AES67 to a real output.

An off-the-shelf Linux stagebox reference built around Raspberry Pi 4 and a HiFiBerry PCM5122 DAC. It makes the physical receiver path visible—from Ethernet and PTP to I²S and analog output.

The receiver path changes the usable profile.

For a one-stereo-sink stagebox, density is not the question. The practical result is whether the complete software path can hold the desired receiver target through the physical device.

Sustained through ALSA mmap/DMA, I²S and PCM5122 with a maximum runtime ALSA queue of 34 frames, or 0.71 ms.

practical physical profile

On the tested StagePi-class hardware, both existing paths required a higher practical device-output profile because their ALSA delivery queues exceeded the strict 1 ms target.

These are receiver and device-delivery observations. No analog output-edge or end-to-end acoustic latency was measured.

WHY STAGEPI MATTERS

A transparent path OEM teams can inspect.

The public project is useful as a reproducible physical-audio reference and as an example of the same Cortex-A72 processor class used in the benchmark program. Commercial Bama Box technology is portable to comparable Linux SoCs, including NXP i.MX families, through the OEM integration API.
